Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems have evolved significantly over the past two decades, moving from traditional data repositories to intelligent platforms capable of predictive analytics, customer behavior modeling, and automated decision-making. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology in CRM by enabling organizations to understand customer preferences, personalize interactions, automate customer service, predict customer behavior, and improve business performance. AI-powered CRM systems integrate machine learning, natural language processing, predictive analytics, chatbots, and recommendation engines to deliver enhanced customer experiences and operational efficiency. This study reviews the evolution, architecture, applications, benefits, challenges, and future trends of AI-powered CRM systems. Findings indicate that AI significantly improves customer retention, satisfaction, sales forecasting, and marketing effectiveness while reducing operational costs. However, concerns regarding data privacy, algorithmic bias, implementation complexity, and ethical considerations remain critical challenges. The study proposes an integrated framework for AI-enabled customer relationship management and highlights future opportunities for intelligent customer engagement.
