Background
The exponential growth of digital technologies has resulted in unprecedented volumes of data being generated from business operations, social media platforms, customer interactions, IoT devices, and digital transactions. Big Data Analytics (BDA) has emerged as a critical organizational capability that enables firms to transform raw data into actionable insights. Organizations increasingly rely on big data analytics to support strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, identify market opportunities, and gain competitive advantages.
Objective
This study examines the role of Big Data Analytics in strategic decision-making, evaluates its impact on organizational performance, identifies implementation challenges, and proposes strategic frameworks for effective analytics adoption.
Methods
A narrative review and conceptual analysis were conducted using peer-reviewed journals, industry reports, analytics studies, and business intelligence literature published between 2018 and 2025. Relevant themes related to data-driven decision-making, organizational intelligence, and business performance were synthesized.
Results
The findings indicate that Big Data Analytics significantly enhances decision quality, forecasting accuracy, innovation capability, operational efficiency, and customer relationship management. Organizations utilizing advanced analytics demonstrate greater strategic agility and competitive advantage. However, data quality issues, privacy concerns, skill shortages, and technological complexity remain major challenges.
Conclusion
Big Data Analytics has become a strategic organizational resource that supports evidence-based decision-making and sustainable business growth. Organizations that successfully integrate analytics into strategic processes are better positioned to adapt to changing market conditions and achieve long-term competitiveness.
