The emergence of Industry 4.0 technologies has transformed traditional supply chains into intelligent, interconnected, and data-driven systems known as smart supply chains. Smart supply chains integrate advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data Analytics, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, and Digital Twins to enhance visibility, responsiveness, and operational efficiency. This study investigates the relationship between smart supply chains and business competitiveness, emphasizing how digital transformation contributes to organizational agility, resilience, innovation, and sustainable growth. Using a conceptual research approach based on secondary data from academic literature, industry reports, and real-world case studies, the study identifies key technological enablers, benefits, challenges, and future trends in smart supply chain management. The findings indicate that organizations adopting smart supply chains achieve improved decision-making, cost reduction, customer satisfaction, and competitive advantage. However, challenges related to cybersecurity, infrastructure costs, data integration, and workforce capabilities remain significant barriers. The study concludes that smart supply chains are becoming a strategic necessity for businesses seeking long-term competitiveness in the digital economy.
